What's New Information
| At MBBC, the
Harbor Committee implemented two programs in the Fall of 2004 in
our mooring field. The first program involves a year round red
identification tag (Figure #1) that has been added to the top
of the hazelett and renumbering of part of the mooring
field. The second program involves adding a “donut” (Figure
#2) to a member’s assigned mooring during the off season
months. |
|
Program #1:
A red identification tag has been added to the hazelett to
assist members and the HC in positively identifying a
member’s assigned mooring. This tag with white numbers will
remain on the hazelett throughout the year.
NOTE: Some mooring numbers have been changed. Before
leaving your mooring in the Fall, please note the number to
ensure you get back to the same location in the Springtime.
Of course, all
references to the new mooring numbers have been updated in
our records and charts.

Program #2:
In an effort to reduce hazelett damage in the off season, the HC has
reintroduced the stainless steel “donut” in our mooring field. The problem is
that the unweighted hazeletts sit fairly high in the water and become inadvertant
targets for snowmobiles. The “donut”
weight is comparable to all the hardware that the members put on the top of the hazelett in the summer.
The effect is that the hazelett
will float as low in the off season, reducing the possibility of damage in the
winter. This program requires the club members participation to be successful.
Refer to the section at the
bottom of the Mooring Setup Information
link for detailed information on installing the donut.
