MBBC 1998 Awards Banquet

alex-ruth.jpg (37801 bytes)Will Alex Nimick return in '99? Sure hope so!

jim-jon-linda.jpg (61305 bytes)Linda Schneider was our '98 Moosehead winner while Jon Aswad kept the furry critter warm in '96&'97'. For some reason, "The Moose" is about the only trophy Jim Finch hasn't won!

jim-marcy-rs.jpg (47197 bytes)Jim and Marci accepting the "Royal Savage Trophy". The Royal Savage Trophy is one of the most historically significant trophies awarded to sailors on Lake Champlain. The trophy consists of a glass encased relic from the sloop "Royal Savage", the first American Vessel to engage the enemy at the Battle of Valcour on October 11, 1776

kurt-janice.jpg (44028 bytes)Janice Lange, Master MBBC sitting next to Kurt Kling, Master Lightning Fleet 301!

Kurt-kids.gif (62353 bytes)Kurt Kling with his crew Senya and Peter Kling. Kurt and his family won the the Fleet 301 fleet trophy (Bob Sidle Trophy)

marcy-femalesailor.jpg (34673 bytes)Marci Milton accepting her award as the "Best Female Sailor". Marcy raced in the late 80's with Ed Ziemer aboard his Lightning. After Jim Finch and she were married, Marci began skippering their Wavelength 24, "Toads Wild Ride" on Thursday evenings. In 1997 Marci along with Janice Lange began a very successful Women's sailing night at MBBC. Congratulations!

mark.jpg (24670 bytes)Always the clown...Mark Gardner accepting the Lake Champlain Race Trophy for Harold Browne...

miles.jpg (26002 bytes)Miles & Eleanor Weidner. Miles has been the MBBC Yeoman for longer than anyone can remember... 1984 is my guess? Under his guiding hand, MBBC continues to be a strong and viable club. Thanks Miles!

nancy.jpg (30557 bytes)It's OK Nancy, you can open your eyes and smile... Jon didn't get the Moosehead again, although he probally deserved it... just couldn't figure out what he did! Gonna have ta wait till next year... ;<)

niki.jpg (43574 bytes)Niki Rivolta beams after accepting the award for the Long Distance Race. Those of you who were aboard the "Ethan Allen II" may recall the boat making what seemed to be uncontrolled turns during dinner. Seems Niki knows the Captain of the "Ethan Allen II" well enough that he let her and Bretton "Crunch" Gardner actually steer the beast... Lucky we were nowhere near "Browne's Reef"!

stewards.jpg (14359 bytes)Our Stewards... Jason Payea, Jessica Payea and Elizabeth Cartier... Don't forget them at Christmas!

randy-linda.jpg (36745 bytes)Randy and Linda Kruger are responsible for the photo trophies presented each year. You'll see Linda most every day during the summer at the club with their two children Kolby and Riley.
